“It’s truly amazing how we can all live together when we can all focus on something beautiful.”
Blossom & Wing Art Therapy began as a two-year high school research project exploring how art can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression among youth.
Today, it’s become a growing student-led organization that combines traditional Chinese art, psychology, and artificial intelligence to bring healing through creativity.
INTRO
Can Art Heal The Mind?
Blossom & Wing Art Therapy started in a New Jersey high school classroom with one question:
“Can art heal the mind?”
A small group of students spent two years studying the emotional effects of Chinese flower-and-bird painting on high school students’ mental health. Their findings showed that art can help reduce anxiety, improve mood, and promote self-reflection.
From that discovery, they built Blossom & Wing — a youth organization dedicated to spreading the healing power of art to students everywhere.

JASON CHEN
President
is a creative and empathetic student who believes that art has the power to heal, connect, and inspire people. For Jason, art has always been a safe space to express emotions that are difficult to put into words. His passion for art therapy comes from a desire to build programs that can provide meaningful emotional support and healing to people around the world.
At school, Jason leads the art therapy project, which promotes a more positive and supportive environment for students. He also participates in the pond project, which focuses on improving the area around the school dormitory, and serves as president of the biology group. In addition to these leadership roles, Jason challenges himself academically by taking part in various academic competitions.
Jason hopes to continue exploring how art and empathy can change lives and dreams of turning his passion for art therapy into a way to help others express themselves and find peace through creativity.
